This Monday child star Jodie Sweetin filed for legal separation from her third husband Morty Coyle, according to ABCNews blog. Their marriage lasted almost a year and a half. Her first marriage to Shaun Holguin lasted 4 years. She also has her 5-year-old daughter Zoie, from her ex-husband Cody Herpin.

Jodi Sweetin’s situation measures favorably when compared to the flash marriage of 72 hours that was the Kris Humphreys-Kim Kardashian weekend marriage, or to other celebrities who are on their 4^th or 5^th marriages. Famously, J. Lo divorced three times and is currently dating and Geena Davis is on her fourth marriage. Other famous stars like Mariah Carey or Demi Moore married husbands with the formula of half their age plus 7.

On the day she reportedly filed for separation Sweetin seemed chipper and tweeted her fans “hope you are all having an awesome Monday!  New week, a new beginning.” Stars are always so careful to keep up a cheerful display for their fans. These are the days of 72-hour marriages and serial relationships. The star did not comment further, but according to TMZ, the court paperwork obtained indicated that she is asking for full custody of her 2-year-old daughter Beatrix. Other smaller details show that she is asking for the former couple’s 2000 Toyota Avalon as well as asking that they split their Kohl’s credit card balance.

In 2009 Jodi Sweetin released her memoir ‘unSweetined’ which told her story of struggling with meth and alcohol addiction. She considers that the kind of self-esteem issues she had after being a child star put her into dangerous depression that led to drug use. Looking at former child stars Macaulay Culkin or Lindsay Lohan, it seems that the same mechanism which produces sweet child actors apparently turns them into snarling and ferocious addicts with millions of dollars to feed their often lethal drug addictions. From that kind of lifestyle to the mommy lifestyle is an intense journey, and all of Sweetin’s fans are glad she made the transition into wellbeing.

Jodi Sweetin is now in a completely different social circle and sphere of influence. As a mom with two daughters, she is looking forward to being in a happier and healthier place. She now sets her targets on being the next star to waltz back into the public eye on Dancing With the Stars.
