Foley & Lardner has gained another, taking on for their Boston office Stuart Fross, formerly of K&L Gates, where he partnered for their Management Practice Group. He joins their Private Equity and Venture Capital practice, where he will be using his skills in investment to expands the practice’s already wide-reaching capabilities.
“Stuart’s deep knowledge of the fund industry and regulation will be immensely valuable to our clients exploring investment opportunities in the U.S. and abroad,” said Jack Lasater, chair of the Business Law Department at Foley. “As companies face pressure from increased federal regulations, Stuart’s robust experience will help guide our clients through the continued uncertainty of financial reform and other complex legislation.”
Fross frequently writes and speaks on investment practicing, and has his focus in investment management and pooled investment vehicles. He also has experience with investment funds, including bank collective investment funds, registered open-end closed-end and exchange traded funds, Undertakings for Collective Investment in Transferable Securities funds, and so forth.
Aside from working most recently at K&L Gates, Fross has worked for Fidelity, holding different roles, such as deputy general counsel and senior vice president for strategic initiatives with Fidelity Management & Research Company. Along the way, he also invented a business method patent regarding active ETFs.
