Katy Perry has gotten back together with her old beau John Mayer. She released her new single this week on Monday, Roar. Her famous ex, singer songwriter and guitarist, John Mayer croons with her to a new tune. The two sang a duet together on his new song, Who you Love. The famous giggle at the end of the tune is what Perry herself called “a love giggle.”
The two started dating over the summer in 2012, after Perry was text message dumped by her husband Russell Brand, who then filed for filed for divorce. Mayer and Perry broke up in August, and then got back together in September, according to USA Today. The two then broke up in March of 2013, and in June were back together again.
John Mayer has famously been serial dating models, actresses and other singers, but his lyrics seem to show times might be a ‘changing for him.
“My girl, she ain’t the one that I saw coming /Sometimes I don’t know which way to go/And I tried to run before but I’m not running anymore/Cuz I fought against it hard enough to know /That you love who you love who you love/You can’t make yourself stop dreaming of who you’re dreaming of/If it’s who you love, then it’s who you love…”
Katy Perry’s own sung lyrics follow with, “My boy, he ain’t the one that I saw coming/And some have said his heart’s too hard to hold,” she croons. “And he takes a little time but you should see him when he shines/Cuz you never want to let the feeling go.”
Perry comments that what was captured forever for fans and music lovers to listen to was a real and true moment. Fans of both John Mayer and Katy Perry wish them well together and hope that they don’t again and yet again follow their pattern of getting together and then breaking up.
