Bradley Manning seems to be asking a lot from the world. Instead of serving the country, he served our enemies all sorts of indiscriminate private information, leaking it to wikileaks, making him some sort of hero in the eyes of a public who think any punch to the moguls in charge is a punch for justice. Meanwhile, Bradley has decided that he is really a woman and should have treatment to render him so – is the public dime to pay for this too? – in hormone therapy and other so-called “gender reassessment therapies,” so that he can be a woman during the next 35 years he spends in prison for betraying the country. Despite the too-muchness of it all, Army Pvt. Bradley Manning’s lawyer says he is being treated well in prison; in a blog post on Thursday he said he is going through the three-to-four-week period known as indoctrination at the Kansas prison well.
“Chelsea was very happy to hear of these developments. She requested that I relay how grateful that she is for everyone’s understanding and continued support,” said the lawyer, David Coombs. Because what a convicted traitor needs is support!
As for whether the army should answer Manning’s demand to be de-manned, the prison he will transfer to will decide whether Bradley truly has ” a serious medical need” to have genitals cut off.
