Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck has announced it is adding new members to its team. It has expanded its intellectual property team by 13 and has added S. Craig Hemenway plus 12. Hemenway left Dorsey & Whitney where he headed the Denver patent group. Brownstein commented that Hemenway will have equity and his team will “counsel clients on many aspects of intellectual property from identification, protection and management of intellectual property assets to preparing and prosecuting patent applications,” according to the Denver Post.
Brownstein went on to laud Hemenway calling him “one of the country’s leading patent attorneys.” As Denver was chosen as a new satellite for the new U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Brownstein Hyatt Farber & Schreck CEO, Blane Prescott, commented that the intellectual property team expanded at the right time. He goes on to say that the timing was perfect, relative to the USPTO Denver office opening. “The lateral move strengthens our current IP practice allowing us to provide existing and prospective clients with enhanced knowledge and services.”
CEO Prescott added that bringing such a strong team on board at this time aligned with the company’s strategy to “expand with specialty, high-end practices.” Hemenway joins his former colleague also from Dorsey. Evan Rothstein, onto the Denver intellectual property team. Hemenway will be among friends, even as he brought 12 of his own team with him.
Co-managing partner Adam Agron commented that with the growth of the technology sector, growing and expanding the firm’s IP capacity is critical; the entrance of the new team is well timed.
