Utah Dad in Short Shorts Teaches Daughter Modesty

Fed up with the leggy exposure that young fashionistas trend towards, a Utah dad decided he had to take a leggy stand against too-short shorts. Scott Macintosh, family man and father of seven took his family out for a normal family fun time. He planned to have dinner and play mini-golf and have all around fun and shenanigans with his wife and family.

Before leaving to start the evening, he overheard his wife having a conversation with his daughter, where his wife asked the teen to put on some longer shorts. His daughter responded “no,” and so Scott decided to take matters into his own hands, or rather, onto his own legs.

He took his pair of jeans and with a steady hand cut them into a tiny bitty pair of shorts above the pocket. To tie the outfit altogether, he wore a contrasting black t-shirt with the bold white text that read, “Best. Dad. Ever.,” according to the Huffington Post. While his family got stares and ogles at the restaurant, his daughter was tight-lipped. At the mini-golf course, more people stared, but “his daughter still didn’t seem to mind.” Finally, at the end of the evening, dad and family went for milkshakes for everyone, and it happened. His short-short favoring teenage daughter had decided that she had enough embarrassment for the night, and she decided to stay in the car.

Scott Macintosh commented that his lesson of “modest is hottest” wasn’t intended to shame or hurt his daughter. He says, “I simply did this in hopes that my daughter would know of my great love for her and that she knows her great worth.” He continued, “ I hope that young women everywhere understand their great worth. I will look like an idiot any day if that point gets across.”

Since Mr. Macintosh’s short shorts fashion debut, he hasn’t seen his daughter wear the short shorts. “She’s dressed a little bit better since then. Yeah she has,” he commented. In the fight against daughters wearing short shorts, more men around the country wear short shorts to teach their daughter the lesson of “modest is hottest.”
