After reading about Pretty Quick on Sierra’s blog, I signed up and then e-mailed the company to ask about reviewing their services. I was in desperate need of a haircut and wanted to go to a real salon rather than just getting a light trim at the styling school I usually go to in my neighborhood (only $16 for a cut!).
They were incredibly receptive and immediately gave me a $30 credit. That, with the $10 credit I got from the code on Sierra’s post, was my guideline for picking a salon. I knew I wanted somewhere that I could get a cut for around $50 so I wouldn’t have to spend much.
So what is Pretty Quick? Pretty Quick is a “concierge service” for salons, meaning that they give you recommendations and find you reservations. The best part about Pretty Quick is that you make your appointment for that day or the next day, which is great for me because I hate making appointments way ahead of time.

You preview your request and then submit. Pretty Quick sends out your request to all of their approved salons, who have 5 minutes to respond. You then have 15 minutes to make a decision and book an appointment (you can also choose not to book anything).
Once you have your options, you book an appointment at the salon! Pretty Quick books the appointment for you and you receive a confirmation e-mail and a text message reminder before your appointment.
Based on reviews and location, I chose to get my hair cut at the Johnathan Breitung Salon and Luxury Spa. The salon was really nice and professional looking and the service was great – everyone was very attentive and made sure I was taken care of. I didn’t give my stylist much direction because I didn’t really know what I wanted other than NOT TOO SHORT, which I made very clear. I was actually quite proud of how I handled getting several inches off (I usually have a freak out) and left pretty happy.
The only problem I have with getting my hair cut at a salon is they put a ton of product in my hair and then use a diffuser to blow dry it, so I end up leaving looking like a frizzy poodle… Never fails, every sing time. So after washing and styling my hair at home, it looked much better!

Like it? I do. I’m really glad I got about 4 inches taken off, it was just too long and the ends were looking a mess.
I would also like to add that when I left the salon I received an e-mail from Pretty Quick with a receipt (you pay through Pretty Quick), which stated that I paid a 100% tip and my total was $60. I freaked because I paid my tip in cash and should have only been charged $10. I e-mailed them back about the issue and within 10 minutes received a response that they had contacted the salon, who realized their mistake, and I was reimbursed. I was very impressed by their quick reaction and their customer service team.
I really enjoyed my experience with Pretty Quick, and think it’s a great option for when you’re in a new city, looking for a new salon, or just need something done immediately and can’t get into your regular stylist.
