Thursday Thoughts

Another week, another round of Thursday Thoughts! Not much happening with me this week, just trying to fight my general laziness and try to get a schedule going. Somehow I’ve become REALLY good about procrastination, but now that I have a better idea of what I’m looking for job-wise, I’m hoping to apply to a lot of jobs I’ve found over the next couple of days. Wooo!

1. I ran 5 miles last weekend! I met up with my friend, Danny, from law school and we ran 5 miles on the lakefront. My legs felt pretty tired so there’s no way I would have made it without Danny there to distract me, but I’m so excited! I looked at my Daily Mile account and I hadn’t run that far since March 30th!

2. After the run, I met up with Danny and another friend, Bre (HEY GUYS!) to watch the Florida/Tennessee Game at a bar. I have zero affiliation with either team, but since it was a Florida bar (all filled with FL fans) and Bre went to school there, I cheered them on (and got an awesome sticker)!!

3. I’m sure you ALL have noticed, but the Kansas City Chiefs are kicking butt so far this season (a very rare occurrence…), and every year my cousin and I say if the Chiefs go to the Super Bowl (which they will, of course), we will do anything in our power to be there. I looked up tickets just out of curiosity and was SHOCKED by the prices. The cheapest ticket is almost $2500!!!! I better have a real job come January…

4. While I was puppy sitting Molly last week I got to use the TV at her (yes HER) apartment and watched some great movies: Pretty Woman, Sixteen Candles and the always hilarious, Bridesmaids. “Help me, I’m poor.”

5. Several of you commented on this “Slimcado” that I put in yesterday’s One Word Wednesday post. No, I did not purchase the Slimcado and, no, I have no idea what it really is. I am, however, very intrigued and might buy it just to see what in the world a “slimcado” tastes like (although honestly it kind of frightens me).

6. I saw Kamilla link to this survey on Facebook yesterday and, of course, I had to take it myself. I was surprised to see that it was really accurate. I read all the various descriptions depending on the points you received and the only one that applied to me was the one I fell under with 32 points:

7. I should be getting some really big news next week (I can’t even talk about it without wanting to vomit. You’re welcome), so any prayers or positive vibes that it goes well would be appreciated. Or that I handle it well if not…

8. What’s a Thursday Thoughts post without MOLLY!?!?!?!

Are you into running right now?

Does your city have bars for certain sports teams or is that a Chicago thing?

What movie have you watched most recently?

Kathryn Wheeler: My name is Katie and I moved to Chicago in 2010 for law school and graduated in May 2013. I'm originally from Kansas City, MO and I did my undergrad at the College of Charleston in South Carolina. I started this blog in August of 2011 because I needed a creative outlet and I wanted to write about my life in a way that other women could relate to and realize that they aren’t alone in many aspects of their lives.
