It’s that time again. It’s Esquire magazine’s “Sexiest Woman Alive” issue, and according to Fox news, the honor goes to the ever-seductive Scarlett Johansson. Maybe it’s those sultry lips or her red-carpet ready hair, but Scarlett is the only woman to be honored for the sexy title twice; she was previously on the cover for “Sexiest Woman Alive” six years ago. I guess sexy only gets better with age. Last year the title went to That 70’s Show and Ted star Mila Kunis and Halle Berry even graced the cover several years ago, proving age is just a number.
The actress, once married to Canadian actor Ryan Reynolds, won’t be available for any blind dates – sorry guys – because she’s engaged to be married, but at least we have the magazine cover to hold our attention. Congratulations, Scarlett!
With her breakthrough in the indie film Ghost World, based on the graphic novel, she has appeared in a variety of films, most recently the summer blockbuster The Avengers, based on the Marvel comic book, where she played the sexy Russian spy, Black Widow, a character she also played in Iron Man 2 with the forever popular Robert Downey Jr. Johansson will fill Black Widow’s shoes once again for The Avengers sequel as well as in the sequel, Captain America: The Winter Soldier with Chris Evans. She also played famous scream queen, Janet Leigh, in Hitchcock with Sir Anthony Hopkins, about the production of the classic horror thriller Psycho. The three time Woody Allen muse was also seen in Sofia Coppola’s highly-praised Lost In Translation with comedian icon Bill Murray. She can currently be seen in Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s new film, Don Jon, about the effect pornography plays on today’s dating scene and the unrealistic images it fills our heads with when looking for a relationship. She’s won the prestigious Tony award for her work in Arthur Miller’s play, A View From the Bridge, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe award several times. Johansson has proven that she can be more than just a Hollywood sex symbol, though it’s not a title we want her to drop any time soon.
