Well it’s official: Kris Jenner and Bruce Jenner have split, after 22 years of marriage, and it seems the main reason is that Bruce wanted some peace, whereas Kris just wanted more.
“My understanding is that he’s subjugated himself and his career – his motivational speaking, training and aviation business – to be the stay at home dad for the two children they had together,” New York divorce lawyer Steven J. Eisman told the Daily News.
That suggests he could get alimony. As Eisman further said, “If he takes the position that he stopped pursuing his career because they had an agreement he was going to watch these kids, that would give him a good claim for alimony and the need to support the lifestyle they enjoyed together.”
The 1976 Montreal Olympics Champion had to face the fame and fortune hungry wife who helped bring their combined fortune to over $125 million, managing the “Keeping of the Kardashian” fiasco that some people find entertaining.
“Kris runs the show, that’s for sure,” said a reality show source to People. “Bruce basically had no say in anything. He was told what to do. You’d go over [to their house] and there were always a million people running around, and it was pretty obvious Bruce didn’t feel comfortable in his own house anymore. Half the time Kris would just shut him right down like she didn’t want to hear from him.”
“We are much happier this way,” said E! News. “But we will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain our number one priority.” This is certainly the case for Kris Jenner, since her family is her number one source of money.
As for Bruce, he has the space and distance he was so eagerly seeking, so it is entirely plausible that the pair is “much happier this way.”
