Dianne Reidy, house stenographer, shouted out loud for the praise of God Wednesday evening during the end of the government shutdown. According to The Washington Times and co-workers, she always seemed like a quiet and friendly person, and many think she just lost hold of her emotions. While she called out to God and accused the government for being agnostics, some of her peers warned her to keep silent. She apparently made her way up to the podium and just started preaching about God and how there is no “one nation under God.” Her rant commented that there is an inability of the nation to serve two masters. Many of the congressional members were shocked by her unexpected and sudden outburst. She went on to yell by praising God and that he will not be mocked. She ranted about this subject repeatedly and shouted at people not to touch her. Her Facebook page was filled with religious postings and after her breakdown in front of everyone, she was given a mental evaluation. Her comments continued to say that the greatest deception of all is that there is not one nation under God and there never was. She made it clear that if there was then the Constitution would not have been written by Free Masons. She screamed that they go against God and one cannot serve two masters. She even continued to praise Jesus Christ.
Reidy was captured in a video striding casually up to the podium with hardly anyone even blinking. Only once she begins to speak do people begin to notice something is very wrong with her and she is taken away by security, ignoring the call to order. Co-worker and United States Representative, Joaquin Castro, went on record saying Reidy had a “crazed” look in her eyes. Is she mentally ill or was she just biding her time for the perfect moment to speak her mind? Either way isn’t very positive or good for anyone, especially not Reidy herself.
Reidy’s questionable sanity came at the end of the government shutdown, which led to President Obama signing the bipartisan law that reopened the federal government and glossed over the unprecedented debt default. According to USA Today, people have returned to their jobs while getting compensated for not being paid during the shutdown and though Obama seems content for now, many others do not, especially Dianne Reidy. She is believed to be, according to ABC News, currently staying in a Washington D.C. hospital, as her screaming into the microphone on Wednesday is under further examination.
