How far would you go to look like your favorite celeb? According to The Huffington Post, all the way for thirty-three year old Toby Sheldon. The songwriter has gone through several plastic surgery operations to look just like the Canadian teeny-bopper singer, Justin Bieber. Spending one hundred thousand dollars over the past five years for the surgeries that make him not only a true “Belieber”, the fan actually resembles the teenage singing sensation in the flesh. The surgery even included a special “smile surgery” that involved the plumping of the lower lip and the thinning of the top lip, all just to get that perfect Justin Bieber smiley pout. The smile surgery was done in three parts. There were also a lot of Botox and Aquamid injections, eyelid surgery, numerous hair transplants and even a chin reduction. Obsessed fans get pretty extreme, but spending one’s life savings seems a little too much for the non-obsessed to swallow.
Sheldon is also a songwriter himself and is more than satisfied with his new look. He claims that Justin Bieber is his idol and is perhaps looking for some sort of the same kind of notoriety. Most people bring a photo of a favorite celebrity to the hair salon, but Sheldon wanted more than just a stylish haircut. The hair transplants he required cost twenty-one thousand dollars. Perhaps he wasn’t just a super fan and instead was drawn to Bieber’s youth and seemingly perfect skin. Maybe Sheldon is just afraid of getting older, according to The Daily News, and he’s not done yet. “The more I started studying Justin and young people in general it’s really their smile that gives them their youthful glow,” he told reporters. To finish off the Bieber look he apparently needs a jaw reduction and a nose job.
“Every change I made was modeled after him,” he said. The smile surgery took more than one month to recover from. The truly scary part is that Sheldon’s surgeon actually suggested the further surgeries to make the Bieber transformation complete. Maybe Sheldon is just another victim of the Hollywood machine. Youth is the ultimate advantage in Hollywood and no town is more superficial than lovely Los Angeles. Fat people get skinny, brunettes go blonde, boobs get bigger – none of that is uncommon when wanting to hit the big time in La La Land. Still, Sheldon is a grown man and supposedly knows what he is doing to himself all in the name of everlasting youth.
