Andrew D. Herman Joins Miller & Chevalier’s Litigation Practice

Miller & Chevalier have announced a new hire. Andrew D. Herman has joined the firm as Counsel. Mr. Herman has experience from the Brand Law Group, focusing on “litigating federal campaign and election law issues, as well as handling congressional investigations and ethics inquiries.”

According to a press release by Miller & Chevalier, Mr. Herman commented that Miller & Chevalier was a perfect matchup between his skill set and experience, and the firm’s areas of practice. He commented, “The firm is a great platform for my areas of practice. The firm’s lawyers have deep credentials in all three branches of government and related federal agencies as well as a unique understanding of the legislative process that aligns perfectly with my practice. I look forward to leveraging my congressional and litigation experience to help clients navigate a variety of complex political and legal matters.”

Andrew D. Herman has put in a lot of time in front of Congress, as well as representing it. “His clients include members of congress, Fortune 500 companies, and non-profit organizations.” Always a fan of the great American pastime, Mr. Herman represented the MLB before the House Government Reform Committee in 2005 during an inquiry over steroid use. He co-authored “extensive correspondence” on behalf of Commissioner Bud Selig, and he was co-counsel for the MLB officials during the televised hearings. Herman has also argued in front of the Supreme Court as well as before Congress and federal juries. In 2008, he briefed and argued Davis v. Federal Election Commission, where the Supreme Court overturned the ‘millionaire’s amendment’ a provision of the federal election law.

Andrew D. Herman earned his B.S. with high distinction from the University of Michigan, and a J.D. magna cum laude from the University of California Hastings College of the Law.
