Justin Bieber Builds a School

Pop singer Justin Bieber helps build a school! After performing in Guatemala City he decided to help out a small village in a remote area of the Guatemalan jungle, according to TMZ.  He was flown out to the location in a helicopter and was astonished by the poor living conditions. He immediately joined Pencils of Promise, an organization dedicated to building schoolhouses for children in need. When Justin arrived at the area where workers were already constructing a wall he, feeling inspired by the positive energy, joined in, pushing a wheel barrel, and if that isn’t enough for you Beliebers out there, he did it shirtless! Ah, to be young and beautiful all for a good cause . . . however, his heart seems to be in the right place. He even gave his sneakers to a child without shoes.

Bieber posted a video of his charitable activities on his blog where he commented that the town was overflowing with poverty – “I’m not talking about poor, I’m talking about ten people living in a little shack.” He also stated it was “one of the most amazing powerful experiences of my life. I feel like they helped me as much as I helped them.” In his video blog he thanked his fans for believing he could make a difference with his own hands. People really can make a difference, even if it sounds like a cornball cliché. Even Justin Bieber.

Justin Drew Bieber was born on March 1, 1994 and is Canadian. He was discovered by a talent manager who saw the young singer’s videos on YouTube and immediately introduced him to performer Usher Raymond. That lucky meeting led to a record deal and Bieber became a household name to teeny boppers and their parents everywhere. His debut EP album was released in November 2009. Seven of his songs from that album made it on Billboard Hot 100 and he was the first artist to accomplish such an astonishing achievement. His debut studio album was released in March 2010. Like his EP before, it was also certified Platinum in the United States.

He has over forty million followers on Twitter and in 2012 he was named the third most powerful celebrity in the world by Forbes magazine. He has sold fifteen million records since last year and his fame continues to grow. There are wax figures of him at famous wax museum Madame Tussauds in New York, Amsterdam and London. There are also dolls in his likeness and a concert movie released on February 11, 2011. After he changed his hairstyle in 2010, millions of products depicting the young singer’s likeness had to be changed, dubbing his hairstyle “the most expensive musical haircut of all time.”
