Actor and technical investor, Ashton Kutcher, has joined Lenovo as their new product engineer and celebrity spokesperson, according to USA Today. Though he did not graduate he studied biochemical engineering at the University of Iowa. He has proven he is a serious technical investor and will be joining with the company to advise and design software for Yoga tablets. He will be flying to China to further discuss the new arrangement, but he extremely zealous about his new career venture. He proved his enthusiasm by commenting, “Lenovo makes really, really, really good hardware. I hope to make their products as consumer friendly as possible.”
The Yoga tablet runs on Android with an adjustable kickstand that rotates three hundred fifty degrees. It also works on a battery capable of running up to eighteen hours. The Yoga tablet is available in two sizes – eight inches and ten inches. There are megapixel rear and front cameras. Lenovo paired with Kutcher is a little dicey, but it’s a risk both sides are willing to take. Kutcher said it best with, “If you look at my career, what’s constant is I like to take risks — so does Lenovo.†Aside from his background in engineering, Kutcher also has positive relationships with big companies including Apple and Google. He is also co-founder of A-Grade Investments.
Best known for playing the somewhat dimwitted yet lovable Michael Kelso on That 70’s Show, Kutcher has since shown a versatile approach to acting, taking a serious turn in the thriller The Butterfly Effect and drama, The Guardian (with Kevin Costner). His determined side was also most recently seen in the Steve Jobs bio-pic, Jobs, where he played the title character. Kutcher has always shown an interest in the technical side of things and it is clearly something he knows all about. He has fearlessly put his money into uncertain films and other more technical investments, and though some of his films may be a little less than successful, they have established that he is more than a funny and pretty face in Hollywood. He knows exactly how to work with what he’s given and always comes out on top, whether personally for his undeniable and intellectual growth as an actor or for a more mainstream audience. His advice towards the business world and to his many fans is always thoughtful and intelligent with a lot of heart.
He currently stars in the half hour comedy Two and A Half Men, where he took over for a fired Charlie Sheen. Once again Kutcher is providing us with night time laughs and I personally look forward to what he’s got up his sleeve next because he never fails to disappoint.
