The two lawyers who were charged for planting drugs on a teacher assistant are now facing justice. Jill Easter, 40, pleaded guilty Wednesday to false imprisonment, and was ordered to serve 120 days in jail, since 245 days of the sentence had already been served, and to complete 100 hours of community service.
Her husband still faces prosecution. The lawyer couple claim they mistrusted the school volunteer Kelli Peters, and disliked the way she treated their son. They claim she bad-talked their son to other parents. In retaliation, Kent Easter, 40, allegedly planted a bag containing Vicodin, Percocet, marijuana, and a used marijuana pipe behind her driver’s seat, and then made a phony call to the police, giving false name and address, claiming he saw the woman driving erratically. Police investigation found out he was the true source of the call.
The husband kept in contact with his wife throughout the incident. Kent Easter himself faces charges of conspiracy of falsely charging a crime, false imprisonment by theft or deceit, and conspiracy to commit a crime, as the L.A. Times reported, and could face up to three years in state prison if he is convicted. His trial will commence next week, and it is as yet uncertain if, like his wife, he will plead guilty.
