Weekend & Workout Round Up!

Well hello there! I hope you all had a good weekend – I certainly did, and a very busy one! My weekend really started on Thursday, so we’ll start the recap there!

On Thursday I met up with my brother and sister-in-law at McCormick Place (a convention center just south of downtown) for my swearing in ceremony! We were sworn in, I signed my license, and voila! I am officially a licensed attorney and can practice law in the state of Illinois!

Haha so excited! We heard several good speeches, but luckily the whole thing only took 30 minutes! We sure appreciated their speed…

That evening, I met up with Kelsey, Lindsay, Erin and their significant others for a night of Halloween fun! I spent WAY too much money perfecting my Indian costume, but it turned out well and I had a great time!

We went to a bar that had a ton of arcade games in Wicker Park and it was incredibly entertaining! The weird part, however, is that instead of a normal band that you’d imagine at a bar, they had a marching band… It was odd but nevertheless amusing.

Friday was much more low-key, mostly spent recovering from two late nights in a row and early wake up calls. Well, not early wake up calls but apparently I am unable to sleep in…

Saturday was my BIRTHDAY PARTY! I had a few friends over for a wine-tasting party at my apartment. I was SO excited to finally get to host – I love being a hostess! I had each girl bring a dish for dinner, and a bottle of wine in a paper bag. We numbered each bottle, and then each took a taste of bottle #1, discussed it, guessed the type and cost, and then unveiled it!

We continued this with 7 different bottles throughout the evening, and then once we’d gone through them I pulled them all back out for us to finish enjoying!

The wine concept was a lot of fun, and gave us sort of an activity (drinking wine is an activity, right?), but also I love hanging out and chatting with these girls! Great birthday!

And speaking of my apartment, I’ll have an apartment tour for you all very soon, maybe tomorrow!

Sunday morning a few of us headed to a store in River North to help Lindsay try on wedding dresses and get an idea of what she likes. We had a lot of fun, and it was so great to get to watch her experience trying on dresses for the first time. And we had a little fun using her phone while she was in the dressing room…

Afterwards we walked around, did some shopping, and eventually I ran a few errands and headed home to relax! Fantastic weekend.

If you’re married or engaged what did/does your dress look like?
