Brown Rudnick LLP has announced a new partner hire, Robert C. Funsten. Funsten has joined the firm’s Orange County office as partner and co-chair in their Global Life Science Group. Funsten has experience as partner and co-chair of Bingham’s Life Sciences Practice.
This is Brown Rudnick’s sixth high profile corporate partner to join their London and U.S. offices this year, following Numan J. Siddiqi, who joined the firm’s global Corporate practice, according to a press release by Brown Rudnick.
Robert Funsten has been an advisor to the healthcare and life sciences sectors. His clients have included medical device, diagnostic, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical and biomedical companies.
Mr. Funsten has experience in counseling companies on intellectual property and litigation strategies, as well as in licensing and development, M&A, debt offerings and other transactions.

The head of Brown Rudnick’s Orange County office, Ron Rus, commented that Rob has majorly contributed to the life sciences industry. “He brings a depth of knowledge and experience that have made him a highly respected and sought-after advisor.”
Thomas C. Meyers, partner and co-chair of the Global Life Sciences Group commented that the group was eager to have Rob join them. He also noted that Rob is a “recognized leader in the life science space.”
Rob Funsten himself said that he was happy to be joining Brown Rudnick. He felt that the life sciences attorneys there were truly top performers and that their understanding in their area was truly in depth and notable compared to other firms in the field. Rob Funsten received his B.A. magna cum laude from UCLA and received his J.D. from Stanford Law School.
