In an announcement today from Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel LLP, “prominent trial lawyer John P. “Sean” Coffey will be joining the firm’s New York group.” Coffey will lead the firm’s Complex Litigation Group.
Coffey has experience in dealing with complex situations in finance and securities. He was a co-managing partner at Bernstein Litowitz Berger & Grossman, where his trial teams won $10 billion in settlements. He led teams that won $6 billion in the Worldcom case for the New York State Common Retirement Fund and other investors, according to a press release from Kramer Levin Naftalis & Frankel. Before Bernstein Litowitz, Coffey was a partner at Latham & Watkins.
The co-chair of the firm’s litigation department, Barry Berke, commented, “I have known Sean professionally and personally for over 20 years, and I am so thrilled to have him bring his extraordinary talents to the firm.
