The largest employment and labor law practice firm of the world, Littler, announced on Friday that the firm has exceeded the 1,000 attorney milestone this month as the firm continued to grow and make lateral hires in Latin America. Established in 1942, Littler has more than 60 offices in major metropolitan areas across the nation and the world, today.
Speaking about reaching and crossing the 1000 attorney milestone, Thomas Bender and Jeremy Roth, the co-managing directors of Littler said in a joint statement that the achievement “underscores the firm’s commitment to attract the highest level of legal talent, which has been instrumental in advancing our leading global platform of specialized labor and employment services…”
However, the co-managing directors admitted, “Although hitting the 1,000 attorney mark is a significant milestone, our main focus remains on providing superior quality and client service to the global employer community.”
Littler growth in numbers was partly due to its swift expansion in Central and South America and the arrival of numerous high profile lateral shareholders. Significant hires of Littler this year include JoAnna Brooks and Douglas Bria (San Francisco); Don Prophete and Nikki Howell (Kansas City); Anjanette Cabrera (New York); Irene Gallagher (Miami); Damon Hart (Boston); Tamika Nordstrom and Jeff Mintz (Atlanta); Maury Baskin (Washington, D.C.); Joycelyn Stevenson (Nashville); Curt Graham (Los Angeles); and Mike Moffatt (Indianapolis), among others.
Littler’s focus on labor and employment laws began to increase after the World War II and the radical changes in labor and employment laws in response to the Civil Rights movement saw Littler grow to 50 attorneys.

The law firm continued its growth unabated and in October 2010, Littler opened its 50th office in Caracas, as its first international location. The success of the Venezuela office led to two new offices in Mexico in 2012 and more offices serving Central and South America.
The recent spate of growth came when Littler combined with Colombian law firm Godoy Cordoba Abogados and Costa Rican law firm BDS Asesores 
, making the firm the foremost provider of labor and employment solutions in the Latin American region and around the globe.
