Is it so difficult to believe that a couple might actually be happy? Why is the alternative so much more plausible to our itching ears? This is what Faith Hill and Tim McGraw are wondering after the tabloids and gossip in general has been filling in, apparently from envy or the desire to sell newspapers, just how miserable the couple really is.
What do they image? They are claiming the couple is heading for a messy divorce. More than that, the National Inquirer added the speculation in August that McGraw and sometimes co-star Taylor Smith had “sexual chemistry” going on that rankled Faith.
“We’ve been married 7 years, and since the first week we were married those things were out,” said McGraw. “We don’t even think about it. The only time we ever think about it is [when we] worry about the kids. But they’ve been around it, too, so they laugh it off.”
Far from failing at marriage, McGraw even offered some marriage advice to the Huffington Post last August, saying “The easy answer is just to shut up and not say anything, that’s easy. But really it’s a lot of give and take and it’s a lot of no ultimatums.”
Though the couple has not changed its mind on whether to stay married, they have changed their mind on the number of children they want. When they first married they were talking about having a lot. “Actually before we got married that’s how we knew … we talked about five [children], and then we made it to three.” And as three is what they are at now, that means they are out of the gestation business.
Presumably they will be focusing on the children they have and, naturally enough, on their art and careers as country singers.
