Greenberg Traurig continues to scalp Weil Gotshal of their best talent, this time grabbing three lawyers for their Washington D.C. firm. How does Greenberg continue to land the best talent in the land? By their unsurpassability in professionalism. At least that’s what the latest talent to join them is saying, as they welcome aboard Mark G. Davis, Stephen K. Shahida, and Ronald J Pabis, who joined en masse the firm’s Intellectual Property & Technology Practice.
“Greenberg Traurig is uniquely positioned to thrive in the new economy,” explained Davis on why he joined them. “Steve, Ron, and I are thrilled to join a firm having both a large full-service intellectual property group and diverse practice areas and offices all deeply focused on serving clients at the highest levels of quality and efficiency.”
With the kind of background Davis is sporting, it figures that only a place like Greenberg could tempt him. His IP focus has represented the U.S. International Trade Commission, and he has meanwhile been recognized formally again and again, named “IP Star” by the District of Columbia by Managing Intellectual Property in the IP Stars 2013 list.
The two partners that are joining him in his move are also heavy-hitters, with Pabis and Shahida bringing years of diverse experience in and out of IP Law.

In explaining what about Traurig led so many lawyers to make lateral moves towards them, he said that they offer a “blend of elements that increasingly draws fine lawyers and a wide range of discerning clients to our firm in the new world. World class quality and value are no longer mutually exclusive concepts.”
These are certainly self-serving comments, but in considering the kind of talent they are convincing to come on board, there is truth to them as well.
