Colleen Ritzer, never made it home from school. The 24-year-old whose body was found behind Danvers High School after she never returned home from school, was described as an enthusiastic, caring teacher who stood outside her classroom and always met all students, according to USA Today.
Philip Chism, A 14-year-old Massachusetts teen who had moved to Massachusetts from Tennessee before the start of the school year has been held without bail since shortly after the horrific October 22 slaying of 24-year-old Colleen Ritzer. Chism used an object to sexually assault his algebra teacher before killing and robbing her, according to an indictment issued Thursday. Essex County District Attorney Jonathan Blodgett reports that “The indictments returned today detail horrific and unspeakable acts,†The indictment says he was armed with a box cutter and that Chism also allegedly stole Ritzer’s credit cards, iPhone and underwear.
According to court documents released Friday, Colleen Ritzer’s throat had been slit and was found in the woods, she was naked from the waist down and a note that read, “I hate you all,” accompanied her.
The prosecutors have not revealed a motive for the killing of the popular Danvers High School teacher. Autopsy results have not been made public. The teen, Philip Chism had previously pleaded not guilty to a murder charge. A ruling on Colleen Ritzer’s exact cause of death is still pending.
The Ritzer’s family issued a statement saying that they continue to mourn and that they are asking for privacy. “We are devastated and heartbroken by the details of the horrific circumstances surrounding the death of our beautiful daughter and sister, Colleen.â€
According to Heavy.com, at the request of several news agencies, such as the Associated Press,  the search warrant application tied to Chism’s murder investigation has been released. The court documents show that Chism brought a box cutter, gloves, a mask and changes of clothing to school that day.
