Stacey-Rae Simcox is uniquely attributed to do what she does. As a former Army major and JAG officer, she has already gone far in her career to legally advancing U.S. Veterans. Now she has been appointed to serve as Stetson University’s new Veteran’s Advocacy Clinic director and Associate Professor of Legal Skills.
Such an honor has come after plenty of effort in this direction. Simcox is already Professor of the Practice of Law, managing attorney, and founder of the Lewis B. Puller, Jr., Veterans’ Benefits Clinic at William & Mary Law School. This Puller Clinic has been recognized by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs as the best practice program for serving veterans.
Being best in the nation is of course a distinguishing honor, and this comes from her continual work in building benefits and respect for those who have served our country. She has testified before the Department of Veterans Affairs Advisory Committee on Disability Compensation, and written several pieces of veterans benefits.
Furthermore, she has taught courses on veterans’ benefits, aside from teaching on a wide ranging gamut of other legal matters befitting a lawyer and legal professor.
This wealth of experience, and the values and principles they imply, have set up Simcox to carry on her service to the country she loves in her work not only for William & Mary Law School, but for Florida’s first law school, Stetson University College of Law, where she will serve as clinic director, starting in July of 2014.
