No More Trouble for Amanda Bynes

Actress Amanda Bynes has come a long way since playing it sweet on Nickelodeon. She has gone through a crazy phase and a self-destructive phase. However, after a 5150 psychiatric hold she has finally been released, according to The Huffington Post, and is now free to live her life as an outpatient. The 5150 section of the California Welfare code approves of involuntary hospitalization. She was ordered into rehab after it was assumed that she started a “camp fire” outside in a random driveway. The 5150 code is used when “any person, as a result of mental disorder, is a danger to others, or to himself or herself, or gravely disabled.” She has also been kicked out of the Ritz-Carlton and even trespassed at an old folk’s home. Bynes has been struggling with mental illness for some time, but reports confirm that she is finally feeling much better.

She is now recovering at her parents’ home in Los Angeles. Her mother’s attorney, Tamar Arminak, has stated, “Amanda and her entire family would like to thank everyone who’s contacted them with good thoughts and wishes for Amanda’s recovery. Amanda has completed her inpatient rehabilitation and she’s feeling better every day.” As part of her recovery process Bynes is looking to start another fashion line and has decided she wants to go to college to study fashion. She already started a previous fashion line called “Dear” for Steve & Barry, but the company went bankrupt. Her attorney continues, “She’s now looking at various colleges with the intention of majoring in fashion design. She’s mentioned before she’s interested in creating a clothing line.”

Bynes’s mother is in control of her daughter’s well-being and finances. The actress is also expected to appear in court for a DUI charge because she hit a police car, now that she has been deemed capable of understanding what is going on around her.
