Search warrants were served by Law enforcement officials on Wednesday at five separate locations in Orange and San Bernardino counties in response to an alleged multi-million dollar loan modification scam carried out by the Siringoringo Law Firm and Clausen & Cobb Management Company.
The San Bernardino County Prosecutor’s office said that during an early morning raid, a little under a pound of marijuana packaged individually for sale was discovered. “Lawyer Stephen Siringoringo and his wife, Kendi Smith-Siringoringo were arrested and booked by the Westminster Police Department.”
“The lawyer was barred from practicing on July 29 by the California State Bar.” He was found to have been illegally accepting advanced fees for mortgage modification work for clients. A document from the state said the lawyer “poses a substantial threat to clients or the public” because his firm’s worked with many homeowners.
The states testimony in Los Angeles on July 9 said the law firm based in Garden Grove with offices in Glendale, Rancho Cucamonga and Upland “searched for clients in social media, Spanish-speaking TV and radio shows that broadcast in the coastal and inland regions of Southern California. It obtained over 4,300 loan modifications, the State Bar Court decision by hearing Judge Richard Honn said.”
On Thursday, December12, San Bernardino County investigators are “asking anyone who believes they have been victimized by loan modification scams by this law form to contact the real estate fraud division: (909) 891-3519.”
