A smart phone is a mobile phone built on a mobile operating system with more advanced computing capability and connectivity than a feature phone. Smartphone makers have already spent hundreds of millions of dollars in legal fees on claims of copying each other’s features in a global battle to gain domination over the market. In 2007, Apple Inc. introduced the original iPhone, one of the first mobile phones to use a multi-touch interface. As of July 18, 2013, 90 percent of global handset sales are attributed to the purchase of Android and iPhone smartphones.
Samsung Electronics products that were an issue in the companies’ first patent trial in California and are now no longer on the market, are again the concentration of a ban that Apple Inc. is seeking to restrict the sales of U.S. Samsung Electronics. According to Bloomberg News U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh in California, was asked to ban the iPhone makers sales focusing on the sales of more than 20 smartphones and tablets, such as the Galaxy S 4G and Galaxy Tab 10.1. Judge Lucy Koh rejected Apple’s bid for a sales ban on the infringing Samsung devices after the 2012 verdict.
A spokesman for Suwon, South Korea-based Samsung, Adam Yates, did not respond to requests or for comments to an email sent by Apple Inc.
