It seems as though there isn’t anyone out there who doesn’t love actress Jennifer Lawrence; except for one person. That one person is Joan Rivers, the co-host of the television show “Fashion Police.”
In an interview with The New York Post, Rivers said, “My New Year’s resolution is [ensuring] Jennifer Lawrence grows up and realizes how lucky she is and calms down.”
It seems as though Rivers has yet to get past the comments Lawrence made about the show “Fashion Police” back in November. Lawrence said that shows such as Rivers’ lets young people think they can judge people based on “all the wrong values and that it’s OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat.”
Rivers originally responded to the comments by Lawrence using Twitter. She called the actress “arrogant and a hypocrite.” According to Rivers, Lawrence liked her show when they complimented her during the awards, but then changed her tune when she was promoting her movies.
Lawrence has yet to respond to Rivers’ comments directly. She did appear on television with Barbara Walters though and said that “it should be illegal to call somebody fat on TV.”
Lawrence has also made it known to the public that she refuses to lose weight for movie roles, hates to diet, and admits when she has been photoshopped in pictures for magazines and the internet.
According to Rivers, all of these comments and actions from Lawrence are nothing more than an act in her opinion.
“I love that she’s telling everyone how wrong it is to worry about retouching and body image, and meanwhile, she has been touched up more than a choir boy at the Vatican,” Rivers told the New York Post. “Look at her posters. She doesn’t have a nose, she has two holes. She just has to learn, don’t talk if you’re doing it.”
