Duck Dynasty Patriarch Goes Nuts (for Ducks) Yet Another Rant

Phil Robertson has been on a media tour as viral content explodes all around the internet with bias, hate speech, and other discriminatory remarks fly from the duck-reality star’s mouth. According to TMZ, Phil advocates marrying younger women, as he feels that marrying an older woman or a partner of your own peer group would cause her to focus more on economics, rather than home life.

Specifically, the Duck Dynasty father ranted on how if you marry a teenager, she wouldn’t be a gold digger- rather, she would listen to you, work with you, help you, and clean your ducks. He is advocating a lifestyle that much of the world has. Certainly in the Middle-East, Far East, South Asia, and Africa, traditions there expect a woman to do most if not all of the labor, as well as taking care of the family. Different traditions would be more or less conservative or modern, as families, and of course, the average age difference between husband and wife can be ten years. It is not uncommon however to see husbands more than twenty years senior to their wives. In most metro cities, the age gap is lessening but that is happening for a small fraction of the population.  So while for us what Phil says is borderline ludicrous, for the rest of the beard toting world, what he is saying (praise god) marry a younger woman, and remain the patriarch and lead your family with your beliefs. I think while we are about to put this many into the loony bin, the other 6.x billion humans on Earth have found someone they can relate to.
