A Pittsburgh McDonald‘s employee was charged Wednesday with selling Heroin in the children’s Happy Meals, to customers using the code words, “I’d like to order a toy.”
Authorities of Allegheny County said they made the bust after being told by an informant that an employee of the McDonald’s in the East Liberty section of town was selling the drug.
According to Mike Manko, a spokesman for District Attorney, Stephen A Zappala Jr., customers looking to buy the drug were told to head down to the McDonald’s, drive into the drive-thru and say, “I’d like to buy a toy,” after they would drive up to the window like you normally would when ordering from McDonald’s drive-thru, give the person your money and they would hand over the drug.
Shania Dennis, 26, of East Pittsburgh was arrested after undercover agents set up a drug buy. Inside the Happy Meal box recovered from the bust was 10 bags of Heroin and there was another 50 bags from the suspect. Another employee of a nearby McDonald’s in Murrysville was also arrested of selling Heroin. According to authorities, the Heroin that was recovered from the bust was not related to the Heroin blamed for 22 overdose deaths in the southwestern part of Pennsylvania.
