Screenwriter, director, actor, comedian, author, playwright, and musician whose career spans more than 50 years, Woody Allen began as a comedy writer in the 1950s, writing jokes and scripts for television and publishing several books of short humor pieces. Allen began performing as a stand-up comic, emphasizing monologues rather than traditional jokes. As a comic, he developed the persona of an insecure, intellectual, fretful character, which he insists is quite different from his real-life personality. Woody Allen has been nominated 24 times and won four Academy Awards: three for Best Original Screenplay and one for Best Director. He has more screenwriting Academy Award nominations than any other writer.

Woody Allen was recently honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award for lifetime achievement at the Golden Globes ceremony. The Cecil B. DeMille Award is an honorary Golden Globe Award bestowed by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for “outstanding contributions to the world of entertainment.” Previous recipients include Jodie Foster 2013, Morgan Freeman, 2012, Robert De Niro 2011, Martin Scorsese 2010, Steven Spielberg 2009, Warren Beatty 2007, Anthony Hopkins 2006. After Allen was honored with the Cecil B. DeMille award for lifetime achievement, adopted daughter, Dylan Farrow who is now 28, decided to publically speak out against Woody Allen.

Dylan Farrow claims that the Oscar-winning director had molested her when she was 7, five years after she was adopted by Woody Allen and actress Mia Farrow. According to the L.A . Times, Dylan Farrow says that the incident happened at the family’s home in Connecticut back in 1992. It has been reported that the assault took place in the attic of her home. Dylan Farrow now currently resides with her husband in Florida under a different name.

A spokeswoman for Woody Allen said that Dylan Farrow’s allegations of child molestation are ‘untrue and disgraceful.’ Director Woody Allen has issued a statement disputing the charges. While Allen may dispute the charges, he did marry the adopted daughter of Mia Farrow, so its hard to know what exactly is the truth here.
