Selena Gomez Leaves 45-Day Rehab Early Vowing to Never Return

Ignoring the advice of rehab medical professional, Selena Gomez decided to walk out of the facility after just 14 days. According to TMZ, people closest to Selena  said that just after New Year’s, January 5, she checked herself into a rehab program called Dawn at The Meadows, located in Wickenburg, Arizona.

The facility treats people from the ages of 18 to 26 years old, who struggle with emotional trauma, addiction or dual diagnosis concerns.

The Dawn program Gomez entered, is a 45 day program, but staff said Selena left the rehab in just two short weeks saying she had to attend the Sundance Film Festival to promote her new indie drama, ‘Rudderless,’ costarring Billy Crudup and William H. Macy.

Staff at the center have urged Gomez to return to the rehab, saying: ‘It’s essential in any recovery to complete the therapy.’

Selena canceled the Australian leg of her tour in December. In a statement about canceling her shows, Gomez said she needed ‘to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person i could be; my fans are so important to me and i would never want to disappoint them.”

Best friend Demi Lovato gives Selena plenty of support. After the news of Selena going to rehab, the Demi wrote, ‘Weakness is living in denial. Only the strongest people ask for help.’

According to MailOnline, Selena’s representative said  ‘Selena voluntarily spent time at Meadows but not for substance abuse.’ TMZ claims that Selena was heavily into the drug Molly (which contains MDMA). Selena who reportedly ‘regularly’ smoked marijuana with Justin Bieber was due to tour Australia this month but canceled saying she ‘needed time for herself.’ Sources are telling TMZ that the ‘brunette beauty is said to doing well’. ‘Selena is now happy and very healthy and already back to work.’ Her fans continuously support her and wish her the best; they will be happy for her to get back to touring as well.
