The Paralympic star known as “Blade Runner,” Oscar Pistorius, 27, admits to shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp dead at his home. The Mirror UK has reported that Oscar Pistorius, thought she was an intruder. The state is alleging that it was premeditated murder.

South African star, Oscar Pistorius has pleaded not guilty to all four counts against him, saying the killing of TV model Reeva Steenkamp, according to CNN News, saying the killing of model Reeva Steenkamp, 29, “was a tragic error and he mistook her for an intruder.”

Witness Johan Stipp, a doctor who lived close by Oscar Pistorius, said he went to Pistorius’ residence after hearing shots fired. CNN News reported that, He said he had arrived and found Steenkamp’s body lying at the bottom of the stairs. Oscar Pistorius’s defense team will now questions police on the toilet door in which Pistorius says he used a bat to break down the door after realizing it was his girlfriend who he had shot three times. Bloomberg News reported that Oscar Pistorius claims that he returned to his room and put on his prosthetics, first tried to kick the door in before he used the bat.

According to Bloomberg News, a police colonel, testified yesterday at his murder trial in the High Court in Pretoria, South Africa’s capital. Colonel Johannes Vermeulen reported that the gold medalist was not wearing his prosthetic legs when he broke through the locked door with a cricket bat. The prosecution recreated the toilet in the courtroom.

It has been reported that these charges have lost Oscar Pistorius sponsorship deals with Nike Inc. and Luxottica Group Spa’s Oakley.
