A 16-year-old male student at Franklin Regional High School in Murrysville, Pennsylvania, went on a stabbing rampage according to the Chicago Tribune, injuring at least 20 people.
According to BBC News, Morris Hundley told CBS television that his “frantic” 14-year-old daughter Morriah called him to say that a friend of hers had been stabbed at the school in Murrysville.
The severity of the injuries isn’t yet known, but it has been reported that at least 20 students were injured during a stabbing at Franklin Regional High School and that four of the victims were airlifted to local hospitals. Nineteen of the 20 victims were students; the other victim was a faculty member.
It has been reported that they were admitted to Forbes Regional Hospital in Monroeville, Pennsylvania, with stab wounds. Jesse Miller, hospital spokesman said by phone that according to the Chicago Tribune News, “These are all very serious injuries.”
The police said that the Franklin High School principal tackled the 16-year-old suspect, who had two knives, and the school’s resource officer then handcuffed him.

According to classmates and local news, Nate Scimio was instrumental in pulling the fire alarm to alert others of the stabbing. According to Buzzfeed, Nate Scimio himself has yet to confirm his involvement in halting the attack. According to Gawker.com, the police still do not know the motive for the attack.
