Kimberly Davis is 21 and from Australia. She plowed into a bicyclist with her car while she was texting last year. The accident put dents in her vehicle, according to The Huffington Post.
The victim riding the bike suffered a spinal fracture and had to spend three months in the hospital.
According to The Standard, the victim also suffered a broken toe and lacerations to his face and head.
But, Davis didn’t care about any of this.
“I just don’t care because I’ve already been through a lot of bullshit and my car is, like, pretty expensive and now I have to fix it,” Davis told an officer after the collision.
“I’m kind of pissed off that the cyclist has hit the side of my car. I don’t agree that people texting and driving could hit a cyclist. I wasn’t on my phone when I hit the cyclist.”
Davis entered a guilty plea on Monday to dangerous driving and received a fine of $4,500. Officers said that Davis used her phone 44 times while driving the vehicle prior to the accident.
Davis called authorities after the accident, but parked 300 feet from the victim and refused to help him.
Davis was supposed to have her license back this May, but it has since been suspended for another nine months.
