Global law firm, Kirkland & Ellis LLP has announced expansion of its corporate practice with the addition of one more office in the U.S. The new office in Houston is the law firm’s seventh in the U.S. and twelfth, internationally.
Kirkland & Ellis has roped in leading M&A Corporate Attorney, Andrew T. Calder – former Partner in Simpson Thacher & Bartlett’s Houston office. As Partner in the Houston-based office, he will help the law firm strengthen its corporate practice further.
Calder specializes in M&A, corporate governance, and corporate and securities law with a particular focus on the energy sector. He brings immense experience and industry know-how along with him. He is known for having advised leading private equity funds such as Blackstone Energy Partners and KKR, and companies like GeoSouthern Eagle Ford Development LLC, Alta Energy Luxembourg S.à.r.l., and PPL Corporation, among others. Several eminent corporate attorneys such as Benjamin Clinger, who is relocating to Houston from Kirkland’s Chicago office and Rhett Van Syoc will join him.
