Jon Stewart and Comedy Central were looking for a host for the post-Daily Show. Senior correspondent Larry Wilmore will host the new nightly program, The Minority Report, which will start in January 2015. The Colbert Report and The Minority Report were created by Jon Stewart and produced by his Busboy Productions. Stewart and Wilmore will be serving as the executive producers. With Stewart continuing to produce The Daily Show, and its companion programs, he will probably be kept in the loop when his contract comes up next year.
The show ‘The Minority Report’ with Larry Wilmore, will be a comedic look at the day’s news and will have a panel of voices, which Comedy Central says, as the title suggests, “are currently underrepresented in comedy and television.” Stewart said, “While Larry Wilmore is a brilliant comic and showrunner, this is all just a complicated ruse to get him to move to New York and turn him into a Knicks fan.” Willmore responded saying, “I love the city of New York and promise to only wear my Laker t-shirts when I’m layering.” Certainly fans of the zany Jon Stewart will laugh out loud at his new addition to late new television. All of the other late shows will definitely get a run for their money.
