Indiana Tech announced on Friday that it’s law school dean had stepped down less than one year after opening its doors to students, according to The Journal Gazette.
Dean Peter Alexander, who is also a vice president at the university, stepped down as dean on Wednesday.
In a press release from the school, Indiana Tech President Dr. Arthur Snyder said, “Dean Alexander has helped establish a firm foundation here at the law school, which will help us achieve success now and in the future. We appreciate his efforts on behalf of students and our school, and wish him well in all his future endeavors.”
Alexander said that he achieved the goals he established for the law school and wanted to pursue other opportunities. The law school just opened in September, but Alexander began his duties at the school in January of 2012.
The interim dean of the school will be andré douglas pond cummings, who elects not to use capital letters. Right now, cummings is the associate dean for academic affairs and a professor of law at the young school.
He earned his B.S. from Brigham Young University and his law degree from Howard University School of Law.
