Video Discusses Racism in Sports, Including Team Names

In the wake of the Donald Sterling controversy surrounding the Los Angeles Clippers and the NBA, a video was created by the YouTube page known as All Def Digital. It discusses racism in sports, including the names of teams across the major sports leagues that are offensive to Native Americans.

The video is a conversation between a couple of men and a couple of women, all of whom are from diverse backgrounds. The video is just over two minutes in length and it is definitely worth watching if you have been following the news regarding Sterling and his comments.

In the video, a Native American mentions the offensive names of the Atlanta Braves in the MLB, the Chicago Blackhawks in the NHL, and the Washington Redskins and Kansas City Chiefs in the NFL.

The video opens up talking about the Donald Sterling controversy and discusses the creation of a No Foul Coalition, which has a single goal of ending racism in sports.

What makes the video so interesting is that when the Native American involved tries to discuss changing the offensive team names mentioned above, he is cut-off by the rest of the people in the video, who try to discuss their views on racism in sports. Give the video a watch and leave your comments below this post.
