Paul McGreal Stepping Down as Dean of University of Dayton School of Law

The University of Dayton School of Law has announced via a press release on its website that dean Paul McGreal will step down from the position. McGreal will step down when his four-year term ends on June 30, 2015. He will return to the law school faculty.

The school said in the release that a national search will be conducted for a new dean.

“Paul McGreal’s leadership has strengthened UD’s School of Law significantly, even in the face of the most challenging environment for legal education in the U.S. that we have seen in the past generation,” said Paul Benson, interim provost. “Dean McGreal has made numerous innovations in student recruitment, curriculum and job placement that set the school on a firm foundation for the future.”

McGreal will still lead the law school through its accreditation review process with the American Bar Association this year.

McGreal told the school’s staff and faculty the following: “I have benefited from the support of the University, good colleagues and my peers on the provost and president’s councils. I have had the privilege of working in the service of remarkable students and alumni whose commitment to our community never fails to humble me. In my final year as dean, I look forward to building on our good work, and I will continue to take pride in the law school community and its continued success.”
