Sidley Austin Signs 12-Year Lease for New McKinney & Olive Tower

In Dallas’ Uptown district, the McKinney & Olive office tower is still being constructed. News broke this week that the law firm of Sidley Austin LLP has decided to rent a large amount of space in that new building, according to The Dallas Morning News.

Crescent Real Estate Holdings is the developer for the project and it said that the law firm has rented 2.5 floors at the very top of the building. The tower will be 20 stories tall. The law firm has been negotiating the lease for quite a few months now.

For the time being, the law firm has subleased temporary office space at the Trammell Crow Center on Ross Avenue. Some 100 employees will be relocated to the tower when construction is complete, which is scheduled for two years from now.

“The space we are in now is beautiful, but we are bursting at the seams,” said Yvette Ostolaza, managing partner of Sidley’s Dallas office. “Uptown continues to be an area of growth and a great place for us.”

Sidley signed a lease at the new tower for 12 years. Part of the agreement is that the firm will have large signs on two sides of the tower.

“It was important to us because Sidley is growing in the Dallas marketplace and making an investment, and we wanted our neighbors to know that,” Ostolaza said.
