Eesha Khare is a teenager with an incredible mind. She became fed up with the problem of having her cell phone battery constantly losing its charge so she took action.
Khare created a supercapacitor for cell phones in order to fix the issue. She recently appeared on late night television with Conan O’Brien to discuss her invention.
She told Conan the following in her interview:
“I was always frustrated in myself with batteries today so I looked for something where I could make my energy storage device a lot better. So last year, I developed a super capacitor energy storage device which can charge really quickly and hold a lot of energy. I used titanium dioxide and a conducting polymer called polyethylene.
They always liked to joke that nanoengineers worked with things they can’t see which makes them a lot cooler.”
She even offered some very important advice to young people who aren’t confident in themselves when it comes to doing something special or big.
She said, “If you have an idea, you should work hard to get it there. The most common response I get whenever I go, talk to someone about my idea is always like, “You did that? You’re only 18 years old. How did you do that?” But the thing is, I have mentors and professors who’ve been so helpful throughout the entire process.”
