The law firm of Mayer Brown announced via a press release this week that Thomas J. Moore will join in the Houston office. Moore will work as a partner in the Corporate & Securities and Oil & Gas practices. Prior to joining the firm Brown worked with Baker Botts in their Houston office.
Dallas Parker, the head of the Corporate & Securities practice in Houston said the following in the release:
“Tom is well-known in the energy industry for his strong experience in leading significant oil and gas transactions and projects around the world, particularly in Asia and Africa. His deep knowledge in representing energy companies on the acquisition of oil and gas assets and on the development of large projects, such as liquefied natural gas facilities, will further strengthen Mayer Brown’s ability to serve clients across the globe.”
Moore has experience with commercial, corporate and financial experience within the infrastructure and energy realms.
Moore said the following about Mayer Brown in the press release:
“Mayer Brown’s impressive energy and project finance capabilities, presence in Asia and London, and cross-office, cross-practice integration are a perfect fit for the global nature of my work. The oil and gas industry is increasingly integrated and global in scope, and to serve it properly, a law firm needs an integrated, global presence. I look forward to collaborating with my new colleagues at Mayer Brown to further expand the firm’s capabilities in oil and gas mergers and acquisitions and project development around the world.”
Moore earned his law degree from the University of Minnesota Law School and his AB from the University of California at Berkeley.
The partner-in-charge for the Houston office of Mayer Brown, Neil Wasserstrom, said the following:
“Tom’s arrival further enhances Mayer Brown’s reputation as a firm focused on handling significant oil and gas matters in Houston—the hub of the global oil and gas business—and elsewhere in the US, Africa, Asia and Latin America.”
