The law firm of Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young has filed a lawsuit in Court of Common Pleas in Philadelphia against real estate developer Eric Blumenfeld of EB Management for unpaid legal fees, according to The Philadelphia Business Journal.
Blumenfeld has helped to redevelop North Broad Street and had plans to put new life into the rundown Divine Lorraine hotel.
The firm claims Blumenfeld owes it more than $700,000 in legal fees. According to the lawsuit, the firm began working for Blumenfeld in March of 2012 until October of 2013.
The total amount due to the firm was $787,171.56 and the two parties agreed to terms in which Blumenfeld would make multiple payments to the firm to pay the bills.
The first payment was to be for $50,000 and then monthly payments of $10,000. The $50,000 initial payment was made in November, but nothing has been paid to the firm since then.
Blumenfeld and his company now owe the firm $737,171,56 in payments. He told the Philadelphia Business Journal the following about the case:
“I think this is going to be resolved today or tomorrow. I think it will resolve quickly.”
