The law firm of Hogan Lovells announced on Monday that Albert W. Stemp joined the firm in its Los Angeles office. Stemp will work as a partner in the firm’s real estate practice, according to a press release from the firm.
Stemp has represented both financial institutions and borrowers. He has also represented institutional investors, private equity funds, REITs and developers. Stemp advises investors in the United States regarding international real estate assets and international investors regarding real estate assets and debt in the United States.
Barry Dastin, the Los Angeles office managing partner, said the following in the release:

His arrival at Hogan Lovells reflects our commitment to growing our Los Angeles Real Estate transactional practice and complements our nationally recognized REIT practice, which has been consistently ranked in the top band by both Chambers and Partnersand Legal 500.”
Stemp handles mortgage and mezzanine originations, joint ventures, loan workouts, acquisitions and dispositions, mixed-use developments, leasing, sale/leaseback transactions and public and private real estate securities placements.
He comes to the firm from Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP.
