Becker & Poliakoff has strengthened its real estate and litigation practice in New York with the addition of Joseph J. Ceccarelli, the law firm said in a press release this week. Prior to joining Becker & Poliakoff, he was the founding and managing partner of Ceccarelli Weprin PLLC, a 20-year old business and commercial real estate litigation and transactional firm.
Mr. Ceccarelli is a seasoned real estate attorney and commercial litigator with more than 25 years of experience in New York City. His comprehensive litigation background includes representation of the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York, where he had a primary role in the prosecution and defense of substantial state-wide construction claims.
In addition to commercial litigation, Mr. Ceccarelli focuses on real estate transactions. His extensive litigation background brings an added dimension and level of analysis to these transactions, with particular emphasis on service and construction contracts, commercial leasing of office and retail space, and other building-related agreements.

Mr. Ceccarelli is a graduate of Fordham University where he received his J.D, Degree and his B.A. in Economics, magna cum laude. He is admitted to practice before U.S. Supreme Court, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts, and is a member of the New York Bar.
