Summary: A Houston teacher has been sentenced to three years’ probation after treating a student to a lap dance for his 15th birthday.
The Huffington Post reports that Felicia Smith, a 42-year-old teacher who taught at Stovall Middle School in Houston, pleaded guilty to having an inappropriate relationship with a student. Chron.com adds that this charge is a felony.
Ms. Smith thought a good birthday present for one of her fifteen-year-old students was a lap dance in a classroom full of students. The teacher told the student to sit down in a chair beside his desk. Ms. Smith then began playing music and started dancing on the student, “with her buttocks making contact with his penis while she began to move back and forth.”
Of course, another student recorded the incident on a cell phone. The video showed Ms. Smith putting her head between the student’s legs. The student told police officers he also gave the teacher a couple of spankings. Ms. Smith, at the end of the dance, said, “I love you, baby. Happy birthday.” Chron.com noted that the dance lasted nearly four minutes.
Clearly, the teacher is no longer employed with the Aldine Independent School District. Her teaching license is “currently under review.”

When asked about the incident, Ms. Smith protested that the students “convinced her” to give the student a lap dance.
