Los Angeles Attorney Faces Suspension Due to Photoshopped Pictures

Summary: An attorney from Los Angeles, Svitlana Sangary, has been accused of photoshopping herself into hundreds of pictures with celebrities and world leaders.

An attorney from Los Angeles, Svitlana Sangary, has been accused of photoshopping herself into pictures with A-list celebrities and world leaders, according to SFGate.

Now, Sangary is at risk of receiving a suspension on her State Bar license after posting the photos to her website and then refusing to remove them.

Some of the photos Sangary photoshopped herself into include shots with Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama, Paris Hilton, George Clooney, Kim Kardashian and at least 50 others.

According to State Bar Court Judge Donald F. Miles, Sangary used ‘deceptive advertising’ when she photoshopped herself into these pictures.

Some of the photos even have the same exact photo of Sangary photoshopped into them wearing the same outfit.

According to the State Bar, almost all of the photos on her website “were created by taking original celebrity photos and then overlaying (Sangary’s) image in order to make it appear as though (Sangary) was in the presence of that celebrity.”

Sangary fought state officials against deleting the photos when they asked her to do so back in 2013. Miles said that Sangary responded with “a 16-page soliloquy with little to no rational connection to the charges at hand,” Miles wrote.

An excerpt from her response is as follows:

“Also, with regard to false statements and misleading advertisement, none other than Natalie Portman comes to mind. The online media extensively covers the controversy surrounding Natalie Portman’s performance in the film Black Swan. The ballet dancer who performed in the Black Swan, Sarah Lane, has come forward to revel [sic] a ‘cover-up’ and says that Natalie Portman’s head was superimposed on to Sarah Lane’s body, and that Natalie Portman lied.”

Sangary even sent in 30 more exhibits as evidence that the photos were real, including a reported email from Obama that asked her to contribute “$3 or more” to help the Democratic Party.

It has been recommended by the court that Sangary be suspended for a period of 6 months and placed on probation for three years. The state Supreme Court must approve this decision.
