Ogletree Deakins to Open Office in Mexico City Tomorrow

Summary: The law firm of Ogletree Deakins has announced that it will open a new office on Thursday. The office will be located in Mexico City.

The law firm of Ogletree Deakins has announced that it will expand its international platform as it opens an office in Mexico City on Thursday, according to a press release.

The firm has opened offices in London, England and Berlin, Germany in order to meet the growing demand for legal services on an international level. The office in Mexico City allows the firm the opportunity to provide clients with labor and employment support in Mexico.

The office will be led by Pietro Straulino-Rodriguez, who comes to the firm from Sanchez Devanny. He worked at the former firm as the co-head of the Labor, Social Security and Immigration practice. His entire team will come to the firm and it includes a law clerk and three associates.

Straulino-Rodriguez focuses his practice on litigation, counseling and union negotiation issues. He has represented companies on collective bargaining agreements, work contracts, global policies, codes of ethics and conduct and employment manuals.

“We are very pleased to expand our ability to service employers’ international needs, and Mexico City was the logical next step for us after Berlin and London,” said Kim Ebert, managing shareholder of Ogletree Deakins. “Pietro is a highly regarded lawyer who embodies our client service culture, and we are very excited to have him and his team of talented legal professionals join our firm.”

“In-house counsel require efficiency and practical, business-oriented solutions to complex legal issues,” said Straulino-Rodriguez. “Mexico has passed sweeping new laws to create a more competitive business climate, and by opening in Mexico City we are able to provide legal resources to employers looking to do business here.”

Straulino-Rodriguez is also a professor of labor law at the Escuela Libre de Derecho.
