The law firm of Miller & Chevalier has announced via a press release that Richard Mojica has joined the firm as Counsel. Mojica comes to the firm from Baker & McKenzie and will focus his practice at the firm on international trade and customs compliance counseling.
Mojica represents clients regarding custom issues, valuation, tariff classification, free trade agreements, country of origin determinations, duty-preference programs and penalty proceedings.
Mojica has experience with representing clients in front of the Court of International Trade.
Mojica has worked as an attorney with the United States Customs and Border Protections’s Office and Regulations and Rulings. In this position, Mojica wrote multiple rulings on country of origin, tariff classifications and preference program-eligibility of imported merchandise.
At Customs and Border Protection, Mojica served as a United States delegate to the World Customs Organization in Brussels. He also supported the U.S. Trade Representative in front of the World Trade Organization on customs issues.
Mojica is admitted to practice in the District of Columbia and Illinois. He clerked for the Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose and Costa Rica.
Mojica earned his law degree from DePaul University College of Law and his B.A. from the University of Michigan.
